Ew, I’ve just been sexually harassed by the most disgusting ad campaign ever! I will explain–but first, what’s up with the new pseudo-ironic trend? You know, jokes so wrong and badly done that “we can’t possibly be serious; rather, we’re making a statement!” (Hamlet 2, I’m talking to you.)
Somehow, wannabe satire has found its way into fashion marketing via Ecko. Note to ads people: If you’re going to try your hand at satire, don’t forget to be funny (or satirical)
See Ecko’s new Hot Girls Make Great Clothes campaign, in which Hot Girls literally make the clothes! How creative and hilarious. I personally like the girls’ profiles and the news headlines on the site (Unattractive Girl Sues!):
This cutting specialist begins each morning with something large and buzzing between her legs. She rides to the Ecko facilities on top of a Harley Soft Tail. So, what do the other girls think of your bike? “I’m teaching a couple to ride?Lexis, Crystal. Devon was a little surprised her thighs turned red, so I gave her some lotion. We rubbed it right out.” Could we ride with you some morning? “Sure. You have to hold on tight, though. I go pretty fast.” We will.
Well, it worked. Think of all the attention they’re getting now! They were banking on females to get angry, and the females in the campaign? $$$$$. Hot girls may, in fact, be smarter than the rest of us.
P.S. I purposely didn’t link to it.
