Oh joy. An idiotic graduate student, Nathanaeli Nassimi, got her ass beat by four black chicks when she was caught wearing an “Obama Is My Slave” t-shirt. The girls approached her after noticing her blatantly racist tee and decided to give her a good old beating for being about as bright as a pile of bricks.
Nassimi ran away from them and called the “Apollo Braun” store on Orchard Street where she had purchased her t-shirt and complained about the attack to the employee who was working in the shop at that time. The employee agreed to give Nassimi the owner’s, relentless media whore Doron Braunshtein a.k.a. Apollo Braun, cell phone number and the still shocked Nassimi told him about the attack and informed him she was thinking of suing him “for all he’s got”. Braunshtein in return told her that he was very sorry she had been attacked, but that she could not blame him because as he told her “No one made you buy the t-shirt”. Nassimi said that she would come the following day and demand a refund for the t-shirt, which cost her $69. Braunshtein told her that he doesn’t give refunds because it is against his store policy.

I can’t believe a girl paid $69 for that shirt. I don’t even think the KKK would wear that shirt, let alone pay $69 for it. And now she’s trying to sue the shirtmaker. SMH

WTF? There is just wrong coming from every side of this story! The girl for buying it and then blaming the store, the girls for beating her up (words would have better) and the owner for selling it!
Whats wrong with this designer? First off it’s not even a desigh. It is 4 words in a wack ass font. This guy needs to be smacked in the face with a sock full of wet noodles and then hung from a 5 story project house clothing line.
Serious, the girls should go and beat the designers ass next!

This is a sham to get publicity.
Mr. Racist gave her a shirt, put her up to claiming she was attacked and then arranged for her to file this frivolous lawsuit. The lawsuit angle was the only way the press would ever cover a story about a stupid man and his stupid shirts. IGNORE THIS IDIOT.
This is just a clear sign THAT RACISM IS STILL ALIVE. Its takes a shirt for people to realize whats on the mind of MILLIONS OF PEOPLE. Just in case everyone doesn’t the world is run by PEOPLE OF EUROPEAN DESCENT and WILL ALWAYS BE no matter who ends up in the white house. I bet if the shirt said “LETS GO HOLOCAUST” or “JEWS ARE MY SLAVES”. The store would’ve been shut down the police, national guard and president would’ve have been called to action and the designer would’ve been Black Bared. But no because its a racial remark against a Black Man it doesn’t matter. What a great world and city to live in. First were gunned down by police offers then were put back in slavery SMH

I agree that the creation of the shirt was a publicity stunt, but why would a graduate student agree to have their name publicized in such a ridiculous/humiliating/racist context? I’d like to think that this was a case of caveat emptor– hipster beware of real life consequences of stupid fashion.

$69 for a lame ass tee shirt that you can make yourself for less?! i don’t agree with the message but is this what people consider “designer”. gosh, this country is going to shit as far as taste and design sense is concerned.
That’s just dumb all the way around. I can’t believe that someone would wear the shirt out in public and then sue because of what happened to them afterwards. She had to know the consequences before she paid the $69 – especially if you’re going to spend $69…

I have to agree with The Daily Commuter’s words…the sense of style in this country is being washed further down the drain…especially if a poorly designed and even less intelligent shirt like this can get by as fashion. What a shame.
