Happy One Month Anniversary!!!

It’s been one month since the Steel Closet officially launched, and I must say, we are very grateful. Grateful to have every single one of you as readers. I don’t know what to say besides the fact we get a lot of satisfaction thinking that we are out there on someone’s computer affecting their lives somehow. Ok, we’re not necessarily volunteering in some 3rd world country. But we do get to comment on one of the basics of human life: fashion (the other two being food and shelter). And keeping up with fashion is frustrating enough. There’s too many trends out there, mostly bad. It’s easy for someone to feel unsure. And we don’t consider ourselves an authority on fashion, we are merely just a group of individuals with our own opinions. Hopefully, our opinions will somehow affect what you wear, inspire you, get you a compliment here and there and subsequently increase your confidence, and the collective happiness of the world increases as a result. That is our humble goal.

Somewhere around last week, one of our posts reached #40 on WordPress’s Top Posts of the Day for July 18 and July 19. That’s all thanks to you guys and gals. We don’t know what it means but we like it.

On a loosely related note, I really hate it when couples celebrate their “one month anniversary,” since it undermines the word “anniversary.” The word “anniversary” comes from the Latin root word, “anni,” meaning year. An anniversary is meant to be celebrated a year after a specific date, in commemoration of that date. One month is hardly a year and to me, it does not take a lot to stay involved with someone for a month (I’m sorry if you’re one-month relationship is hanging by a thread.)

But because of this, you will not see The Steel Closet celebrating its 2-month, 3-month, or 4-month benchmarks, with the exception of this post.
