Band of Outsiders: Inconspicuous Style

I was looking at the pictures of Band of Outsiders new line-ups for the boys and the girls. For the men, it really looks like outfits that you would wear if you want to look nice but you don’t want to get noticed at a party. I’m assuming if you dress like this (tie, untucked shirt, shorts, bucket hat), then you roll with a group of friends who dress like this. I’m trying my best to hold back from using the dreaded H-word (hipster.) I guess subtle would be the word. I kinda wish subtle wasn’t so expensive (Thank you Zara, Topman, and H&M). For the women, the outfits are subtle enough to for a woman get showered with comments. Ain’t it funny how that works? Kirsten Dunst is the girl modeling Boy by Band of Outsiders. The outfits are so subtle, you didn’t even know it was her at first.

keep in mind i don’t have a mind for fashion…

but i think the men’s outfits are EXTREMELY conspicuous (at least the first and last men’s outfits). i mean… they’re wearing neon shirts and beavis & butthead shorts. i would’ve guessed that they were clothes for people who want attention. and the shades + hat may make you incognito in spy cartoons, but in a lot of settings nowadays they’re unique, and therefore stand out.

and i agree, you blend in if you’re in a group that’s dressed like this also.

but isn’t that true of any outfit?

sombreros are subtle if everyone’s wearing sombreros.

I think I have to agree with Owen on this one – at least, with regards to the male looks.

The only one that looks somewhat undercover is the guy with the mic – and you don’t need fancy brands to recreate that look. I think we’ve also reached the saturation point for wayfarers – a classic to be sure, but I think it’s gonna have to go back to the closet soon.

I love love love Kirsten Dunst though – and I’ve always been a fan of outfits where the girl just visually steps on your face with Crayola high heels.
